Voith Paper:
Guangzhou Paper - another DIP line for China

China’s second largest manufacturer of newsprint paper, Guangzhou Paper in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, reports ordering a deinking system from Voith Paper. The new DIP line will produce fibre stock from 100 % recovered paper for feeding several machines at the mill.

The order includes a Protector System for the removal of heavyweight contaminants, followed by hole screening with integrated IC slot screening.

LC stock cleaning is provided by EcoMizer technology, followed by flotation deinking. Here Guangzhou has chosen EcoCell flotation cells for both pre- and postflotation, as already successfully operating in several other large deinking lines in China.

MultiScreen pressure screens fitted with C-bar baskets ensure efficient fine screening.

Bagless Thune disc filters thicken up the stock ready for high performance ink detachment and homogenization in DX dispergers with integrated direct heating.

All machines supplied by Voith will be provided with the necessary field instrumentation.

Voith is also responsible for the engineering services, where a space and energy saving advanced process engineering concept has been worked out in close cooperation with the customer. The concept fully accommodates local environmental protection regulations and other important factors, such as minimized fresh water consumption.

Apart from process basic engineering, Voith Paper Automation will supply the control and instrumentation engineering, including instrument layout, function planning and distributed control acceptance test.

To ensure a smooth and fast start-up, Guangzhou has also selected Voith to provide the necessary related support services, such as erection and start-up supervision.

Voith Paper: Unchallenged market leadership – 300 Voith shoe presses worldwide

The 300th Voith shoe press, a NipcoFlex press, will be installed at Aracruz Celulose, Guaiba, Brazil. This NipcoFlex press will be part of the modernization of the pulp dewatering machine and is a key element to increase the mills capacity from 400.000 t to 430.000 t per year of eucalypt pulp. The machine is planned to start up at the end of 2005. QualiFlex press sleeves will also be supplied with the press. This is the 2nd shoe press from Voith for Aracruz Celulose, which clearly shows the high level of satisfaction with the previous installation.

The first shoe press from Voith, called Flexonip, went on stream in Austria just twentyone years ago in 1984. 46 shoe presses of this type were started up successfully and are still in operation. The Intensa press from Sulzer Escher Wyss with 30 installations was also a successful product to improve the runnability of paper machines. The merger of Voith and Sulzer in 1994 was as well related to technical issues. The best solutions of each existing press concept were combined and the NipcoFlex shoe press was developed. Since then more than 224 NipcoFlex presses have been sold worldwide.

Voith NipcoFlex shoe presses are used for all types of paper grades such as board & packaging, graphic paper, pulp dewatering and tissue paper,, in machines with a width from 2.6 m to 10.6 m and operating speeds from 50 m/min to 1,912 m/min and even for shoe calenders. To cover also future demands, a NipcoFlex pilot unit can be operated at speeds of up to 3,000 m/min. NipcoFlex presses are offering a high benefit to customers in terms of quantity as well as quality of production. A market share of more than 61 % of all shoe presses in operation is clear evidence that NipcoFlex is the most proven and reliable technology in the shoe press business.”
